Spring Drive GMT model with a dial reminiscent of the dynamic cliffs of the Hotaka Mountains

Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches are handcrafted by the skilled artisans of the Shinshu Watch Studio. The workshop, located in the city of Shiojiri, looks out upon the Hotaka Mountains, which were born long ago from volcanic activity that reshaped the continent and pushed the peaks up from beneath. Powerful winds and snow sculpted the faces of the cliffs over many long years to create a dynamic mountain range that is honoured by this powerful sport watch. The Sport Collection Spring Drive GMT Triple Time Zone SBGE295 has a patterned dial that represents these sheer cliffs and features a green colour designed to capture the brilliance of Hotaka’s short summers. The watch features the Calibre 9R66 Spring Drive movement with GMT function. Its rotating bezel with a 24-hour scale is crafted from sapphire glass and is complemented by another 24-hour dial ring display. Description

This watch design is inspired by the view from the Shinshu Watch Studio, where the Hotaka Mountains stand tall, formed by the volcanic activity of the past. With a height of over 3000m, they have steep slopes and rough cliffs from erosion by the wind, snow and ice. The Grand Seiko watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is regularly represented in their designs – from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature. The dial of this model represents the incredible power of the Earth, through its green pattern. The highlands at Hotaka have a short summer, so the deep green colour reflects the vast vegetation on the rich volcanic soil. This watch is powered by the unique in-house 9R66 calibre Spring Drive movement that generates energy like a traditional mechanical watch but combines this with an electronic regulator for superior precision and accuracy. The signature of Spring Drive is the smooth motion of its second hand which moves in a silent and beautiful glide motion, rather than the second tick of a quartz watch or the rapid beat of a mechanical watch. This is a GMT triple time zone model allowing its user to track three time zones at the same time with a 200m water resistance. Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans. Deliveries to mainland UK are FREE if your order is over £30
Orders under £30 are charged at £5.

However heavier, bulkier items may require an additional cost. Please contact us for a quote before the order is processed, or if that is not possible we may need to contact you to arrange an additional postage charge.

Items are generally sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed by 1PM which we will send at the earliest convenience after  purchase, but will be in touch with you once the item has been purchased to confirm this (unless advised by us of an earlier delivery time). In the event you (or your representative) are not there to receive the goods there may be a re-delivery charge by the transport company; this will be passed on to you.

All deliveries have to be signed for; this written authorisation negates any responsibility for the delivered goods by R. L. Austen Jewellers Ltd and the courier. R. L. Austen Jewellers Ltd is not responsible for the goods once they have been received and accepted.

All goods leave our premises in perfect condition but if you are not satisfied with the goods on arrival DO NOT ACCEPT delivery. In any event, if you are not satisfied with the goods, please inform R. L. Austen Jewellers Ltd within 30 working days of delivery and return the goods in their original condition to R. L. Austen Jewellers, otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.

If there should be any shortages, damage or incorrect deliveries please inform R L Austen Jewellers Ltd. within a reasonable time after delivery.

Unfortunately, we cannot deliver or receive returned goods outside the United Kingdom.
