In Japan, we see many changes in the expressions of nature as the seasons pass, and Grand Seiko seeks to capture the essence of these changes through evocative dials it makes in-house. The snow-white dial of SBGX355 is meant to suggest the serendipitous beauty of nature in the area near the Shinshu Watch Studio where it is made. Through master craftsmanship, it presents a detailed pattern not unlike the one traced across the snow by the wind, one that might be seen on the Hotaka peaks in winter. The second hand in vivid blued steel creates a beautiful contrast as it rounds the pure white dial. The 37mm case and the bracelet are crafted from high-intensity titanium, which is even more resistant to abrasions than regular titanium and wears ethereally light on the wrist.
This Grand Seiko features the brand’s iconic ‘Snowflake’ dial – a distinct design inspired by the windswept snow of Japan’s Hotaka mountains surrounding the Grand Seiko studio. In the crisp, dry air, and when driven across the slopes by the wind, this snow has a special light and delicate quality that is captured in the subtly textured surface of the dial.
‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.
Created in this smaller size – 37mm diameter – to meet the current desire for compact watch designs, this quartz piece is built in high-intensity titanium. The white snowflake dial is encased in a dual-sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating whilst its silver-coloured hands are signature Grand Seiko – sharp and intricate – accompanied by the recognisable tempered blue steel second hand.
With an in-house built 9F62 Quartz calibre, this timepiece is the only Grand Seiko 9F quartz within a high-intensity titanium casing.nThe 9F62 calibre is accurate to +/-10 seconds per year and has a date feature at 3 o’clock. The quartz in every 9F calibre is grown in-house and tested for three months – only the best performing crystals are crafted into a Grand Seiko movement.
Each Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.

Items are generally sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed by 1PM which we will send at the earliest convenience after purchase, but will be in touch with you once the item has been purchased to confirm this (unless advised by us of an earlier delivery time). In the event you (or your representative) are not there to receive the goods there may be a re-delivery charge by the transport company; this will be passed on to you.

All goods leave our premises in perfect condition but if you are not satisfied with the goods on arrival DO NOT ACCEPT delivery. In any event, if you are not satisfied with the goods, please inform R. L. Austen Jewellers Ltd within 30 working days of delivery and return the goods in their original condition to R. L. Austen Jewellers, otherwise you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
If there should be any shortages, damage or incorrect deliveries please inform R L Austen Jewellers Ltd. within a reasonable time after delivery.
