Tudor Oyster Royal 32mm.
Here we have a fine example of Tudor watches of days gone by.
The watch’s 32mm stainless steel oyster case shows little signs of use and polishing. The lug holes are not stretched and case back bears the model and serial numbers clearly. The case is hermetically sealed thanks to its oyster-like construction however, due to the age of the watch water resistance cannot be guaranteed.
The watch dates to the 1950’s and the smaller gentleman’s case size is absolutely period correct.
The movement is an industry standard manual wind calibre which has been working well over its life and has been serviced prior to sale meaning we are able to offer a 12-month warranty upon purchase.
Patina. The word given to the genuine ageing and discoloration of a watch. The dial here in this watch encapsulates this perfectly; the off-white dial is adorned with gilt Arabic numerals and gilt sword hands. The simple minute track, Tudor Rose logo and striking blue second hand are all iconic features of a watch of this quality from the era. The once luminous material applied to the dial and hands has discolored commensurate with the age of the watch.
Complete on a new replacement Hirsch strap and buckle, this piece epitomizes mid-century watchmaking from some of the best Swiss watchmakers in the industry.
